1. Scope & Role
This Privacy Policy explains how Sunbots Innovations LLP ("Sunbots", "we") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the Device, App, and Platform. For India, Sunbots acts as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) for personal data we determine the purpose and means of processing.
2. What We Collect
Depending on how you use SMARTON (Offline vs Online), we may collect:
- Account & Identity Data: name, email, phone, language preferences, accessibility preferences, activation codes, subscription details.
- Device & Technical Data: device identifiers, OS/app version, IP address, diagnostics, crash logs, performance metrics, limited telemetry to improve functionality and safety.
- Usage & Interaction Data: feature usage (e.g., SmartEye, OCR, Doc AI), timestamps, in‑app events, and settings.
- Content Data (User Content): images, audio, and documents you capture for features like object/currency detection, OCR, and Doc AI; voice queries for MIRA/assistant features; text prompts and responses.
- Support & Communications: emails, call logs, and messages to customer support.
- Payments: transaction confirmation and metadata from payment processors (we do not store full card/bank details; these are handled by PCI‑DSS‑compliant processors).
3. How We Use Data (Purposes)
- Provide the Services (account setup, activation, feature delivery, subscriptions, billing).
- Process your User Content (on‑device or via cloud) to generate results (e.g., OCR text, object/currency detection, Doc AI summaries).
- Maintain and improve safety, security, accessibility, accuracy, and performance.
- Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and service messages.
- Provide customer support and address grievances.
- Comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud/misuse, and enforce our Terms.
- With your consent, send marketing/feature announcements (you may opt out at any time).
4. Offline vs Online Processing
Offline Mode: Processing is performed locally on the Device/phone to the extent feasible. Content is not transmitted to Sunbots servers unless you choose to sync, back up, or request Online features.
Online Mode: Certain data (including Content Data) may be transmitted securely to our servers or trusted processors (e.g., OCR/AI inference) to provide enhanced accuracy or cloud‑only features like Doc AI multi‑page processing. We minimize retention and apply technical and organizational controls.
5. Sharing & Recipients
We may share data with:
- Service Providers/Processors: cloud infrastructure, analytics (privacy‑preserving), customer support platforms, payment processors—subject to contracts and confidentiality obligations.
- Affiliates: only as necessary for operations consistent with this Policy.
- Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, enforce Terms, or protect rights and safety.
We do not sell personal data.
6. Your Rights & Choices (DPDP)
Subject to law, you may:
- Access your personal data;
- Correct inaccuracies;
- Delete data no longer necessary for the purpose;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Register a grievance with our Grievance Officer.
Requests can be made via support@sunbots.in. We may verify your identity before acting on requests.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, key management, audit logs, secure development practices). No system is 100% secure; please keep your credentials confidential and update software regularly.

9. Changes to this Policy
