Reach the global VI market
SMARTON is used by 17,000+ visually impaired individuals across India and globally — one integration, instant audience.
Bluetooth 5.3 SDK
Any Bluetooth-enabled smart glasses can integrate the SMARTON accessibility platform via our open SDK.
Engineering support included
We work closely with your team on integration, UAT and certification. Typical SDK enablement: 6–10 weeks.
How the SMARTON SDK integrates with your hardware
The SMARTON SDK is a Bluetooth + WiFi profile that bridges your device firmware to the SMARTON cloud. Your team owns the hardware layer (camera, audio, buttons); we own the AI processing, audio response generation, and companion app. Four integration touchpoints.
Camera input
Stream JPEG / raw frames to the SMARTON cloud over BLE GATT or WiFi for SmartEye scene description, Object/Currency/Text recognition, and Document AI capture.
Microphone capture
Stream audio from the on-frame microphone array (recommended dual-mic with noise reduction) for MIRA voice assistant command processing once the user presses the action button.
Speaker output
Receive TTS audio responses, news, audio drama and notifications via your speaker driver. Recommended: stereo directional 1609 configuration.
Button + touch events
Map your physical buttons and touch zones to SMARTON action codes (activate MIRA, photo, video, play/pause, volume). We supply a reference button mapping.

Partner FAQ
The most common questions from smart-glasses OEMs and odm partners considering the SMARTON SDK.
What hardware specifications are required?
Minimum: Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, integrated camera (5 MP+ recommended; 8 MP+ for SmartEye accuracy), microphone (dual-mic preferred for noise reduction), speaker (stereo directional recommended), and a 200 mAh+ battery. WiFi 4 or higher is required for high-throughput media transfer. We support both Android-companion and iOS-companion devices.
How long does SDK integration typically take?
Typical timeline is 6–10 weeks from kickoff: 1–2 weeks for hardware enumeration + BLE GATT profile review, 2–3 weeks for SMARTON SDK integration into your firmware/companion app, 1–2 weeks for User Acceptance Testing with our VI testing community in India, and 1–2 weeks for certification + co-launch preparation. Engineering support is included from kickoff through public launch.
Who pays for what during integration?
SMARTON provides the SDK, integration documentation, engineering hours, UAT coordination, and India-region marketing co-launch at no cost to qualified partner-OEMs. Partner-OEMs are responsible for their device manufacturing, certification (BIS, FCC, CE as applicable), and their share of co-marketing assets. Revenue share terms are negotiated per partnership in the SDK licence agreement.
Can my device run SMARTON offline?
Object recognition runs on-device when the device has sufficient compute (we provide an optimised TensorFlow Lite model). MIRA voice assistant, SmartEye scene description, AI Tutor, and Document AI require an internet connection to the SMARTON cloud. Audio downloads (for News and Document AI) work offline once downloaded via the companion app.
Does SMARTON take ownership of my brand?
No. Your hardware ships under your brand name and packaging. SMARTON is positioned as the accessibility software layer — your customers see your brand on the device and a 'Powered by SMARTON' badge in the companion app. Co-marketing assets credit both brands.
How do you handle data privacy and DPDP compliance?
All camera, microphone, and document data captured through the SDK is processed under SMARTON's privacy policy (DPDP Act 2023 compliant for India users, plus GDPR and CCPA for international users). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, only used for the requested AI processing, and never sold. Partner-OEMs receive a Data Processing Agreement template as part of onboarding.
